Our carbon fiber reels are made from 100% solid, twill pattern, 3K carbon fiber. Precision laser cut. This top-of-the-line exotic material is extremely strong. Stronger than steel in fact, but they weigh in at only 92 grams, which is about half the weight of aluminum. Carbon fiber is very durable, dead flat material. Powder coating is a dry finishing process created by an electric charge that causes a dry powder to fuse to the metal surface. In this case, the same aluminum used in all our reels. It is then baked in a curing oven to achieve a smooth coating. This finish is very hard and durable and is much tougher than conventional paint.
